Applications are invited for an Informatics Analyst position in the Brain Architecture Project, a multi-institutional collaboration based at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) and funded by the WM Keck Foundation.   PI: Partha Mitra (CSHL); co-PIs: Larry Swanson (USC), John Doyle (Caltech), Hans Breiter (MGH).

This person will be primarily responsible for the design and implementation of an interactive graphical engine for visualizing human neuroanatomical information of various types.  He/she will work closely with researchers in the Brain Architecture Project and with outside collaborators to develop visual interfaces that allow various user groups to display information from a centralized knowledge base within a local geometric model.  The candidate should have a degree (MS or PhD strongly preferred) in computer science or a related field, and should be proficient in C++, Java, or other object oriented programming languages.  He/she should have demonstrated proficiency in the development of 3D computer graphics using OpenGL, Direct3D, or similar.

Expertise in one or more of the following areas is also preferred: geometric modeling, medical image analysis, image registration, 3D image warping, geographical information systems, and user interface design.  A background in or interest in learning human neuroanatomy and/or neuroscience would also be beneficial.
