Caizhi Wu
Post-Doc Fellow

Caizhi obtained her M.D. in 1987 and M.S. in pathology in 1990 from Shandong Medical University, Jinan, China. Following her graduation, she worked as a pathologist for 9 years. In 1999, she started her neuroscience research with Dr. Henry Markram at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel, focusing on the quantitative micro-anatomy of neurons of the neocortical microcircuits. In 2002, Caizhi joined Dr. Josh Huang’s lab at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, working on the development and plasticity of inhibitory circuits, and the underlying molecular mechanism of somatic innervation by basket interneurons.

Caizhi joined Mitra lab in March, 2007, working on the Human Brain Architecture Project. She combines experience in medical pathology and neuroanatomy research and will contribute her knowledge of anatomy to all aspects of the project. Her specific responsibilities include collating and assessing the scientific literature and populating the project knowledge base.
